SUPPORTING EMERGING UK-BASED JAZZ ARTISTS SINCE 2019

Grass Roots is a free live music event which is fully committed to supporting the next generation of UK-based jazz talent, and takes place on the first Thursday of the month. Serving as a platform for young, up and coming artists to ‘polish their chops and play their own choons’, these fresh and fully inclusive sessions are a must-attend for patrons and participants alike. 

Since the event's inception in 2019, most of the performers have either been students or recent graduates from some of Britain's most prestigious music schools including Trinity Laban, Guildhall and the Royal Academy of Music, as well as the award-winning Tomorrow's Warriors Young Artist Development Programme.

Following a successful two-year stint at The Vortex - one of the UK’s premier jazz venues, Grass Roots set up shop and settled in the cosy and convivial confines of the CLF Art Lounge - in South London's perky and popular Peckham. 

Grass Roots will be taking a break in January. The next event will be on Thursday 6 February 2025. More details to follow shortly.
